Dr. Steep has many years of experience performing several types of orthopedic (bone) surgeries. Cruciate repairs (a common injury of dogs involving the ligament in the knee), fractures, patellar (knee cap) luxations, and amputations are all surgeries that we can confidently help your pet with. After an initial exam, the doctor may recommend radiographs to further diagnose the condition and blood work to assess overall health for surgical safety. Then, the proper surgical procedure will be decided upon between the doctor and the client. In some circumstances, it may be decided that referral to board-certified orthopedic surgeons will provide the best possible outcome for the individual pet.
